What Lumen does
Lumen shows you job postings from public company job boards. When you swipe right, you ask Lumen to apply to that job for you. An AI model writes a short cover letter and any free-text answers from your own resume and answers, Lumen fills the employer's application form with the information you gave us, and submits it. Each right swipe uses one application credit from your plan.
Who submits. Applications are submitted by Lumen's own computer, which opens each employer's form in a browser and fills it in on your behalf. Your resume and answers are used only for that application.
AI. Cover letters and answers are written by Anthropic's Claude Haiku model, and the same model rates how well a job fits you and helps sort employer emails. It is told to use only what is in your resume and answers and never to invent experience, but you should read what it writes: every letter and answer is shown in Applications, and you are responsible for what is sent in your name.
Auto mode. Auto mode is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, Lumen applies to jobs it rates at or above your minimum score on your behalf, without asking you each time, up to the daily limit you set, and each one uses a credit. You can turn it off at any time.
Lumen email address. On each application Lumen uses its own address (for example lumenapply+your.name.xxxxxxxx@gmail.com) instead of your email, so employers' emails and security codes reach Lumen. Lumen reads them, enters security codes for you, files each email under the right application, and by default also forwards them to your account email. See the Privacy Policy.
Your responsibilities
- The information in your profile, resume and answers must be true and yours. Lumen submits it as you entered it.
- Only swipe right on jobs you actually want. A submitted application can't be taken back.
- You're responsible for following up with employers and for any interview or offer decisions.
- Don't use Lumen to apply on behalf of someone else, to spam employers, or for anything unlawful.
What we can't promise
- We don't guarantee interviews, offers, or that any employer will read your application.
- Some applications can't be finished automatically (for example a question only you can answer, or a form Lumen can't fill). Those are marked "Needs you" so you can answer or finish them on the employer's site. When an employer's form shows a CAPTCHA (a human check), Lumen does not send the application and returns your credit. Emailed security codes are read and entered for you automatically.
- If Lumen can't submit an application because of a problem on our side or an unsupported site, the credit is returned. If you withdraw an application before Lumen has started it, the credit is returned too.
- Job postings come from employers' public boards and may be out of date or already filled.
- Cover letters and answers are written by AI from your profile and can contain mistakes. You can read every letter in Applications.
Plans and credits
The free plan includes 10 applications a month. Paid plans add more credits each month. Credits reset at the start of each month and don't roll over. During early access, upgrades are approved by hand and no payment is collected.
Cancellations and refunds are covered by the Refund and Cancellation Policy, which is part of these Terms.
Ending your account
You can stop using Lumen at any time. You can download your data and delete your account yourself from the Account tab; deleting removes your profile, resume, answers, applications and billing records, then your sign-in. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.
Liability
Lumen is provided "as is" during early access. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, lost opportunities, or decisions employers make.
